A good laugh

I want so badly to enjoy some wavy locks. But I have very straight hair, hair that will not even hold a curl. So after my shower last night I thought hey, I will pin my hair up and see if I can get some pretty waves. This was not what I was expecting.

I will have to try something else.

A Party

I have a confession, I love to have parties. I have thrown a couple of parties, Groundhog day party, we read poetry on the ground hog and watched Groundhogs day. I had a St Patty's day party where everyone learned an Irish Jig and on Cinco de Mayo we had a pinata. I secretly wish I could be featured on this blog or this one. Most of those parties are way more time and money than I have but I love to look and dream and use some of their ideas. So when my college classmate found out that she was having her first boy I jumped at the chance to have a baby shower for her. She was nice enough to except. As an added bonus she is a wonderful friend, amazing woman and teacher and I would do anything for her. (yes Mandy I'm talking about you.) We had a great afternoon with her close friends and I got to throw a party.

Now that the party is over she can have her baby now.

Making a Sandwich

Today was a going to be a busy day. I had errands to run for a baby shower that I'm giving tomorrow. I knew Max wouldn't be in the mood but he never is so it takes twice as long to get somewhere. It was lunch time and I was hungry. I always try to get my kids lunch first so I can attempt to sit and eat my lunch. I asked Max 3 times what would he like to eat I either got no answer or I'm thinking. The forth time I asked I said, tell me now or you will have to wait until I'm done with my lunch. No answer. I sit down and start to eat my lunch. Right after I take a second bite Max says "Mom, I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich". "I'm glad you decided I will be happy to help you when I am done with my lunch" I answer back. Well Max gets mad throws something across the room and starts yelling at me. So I let him know because of his behavior he will now have to make his own sandwich. I get out the stuff and leave the kitchen. There was more yelling and crying and then it gets quite. 5 minutes later Max comes to the stairs "look mom I made my own sandwich". Mission accomplished 1 I followed through and 2 he learned to make a sandwich by himself. I go back down to the kitchen to put away the stuff and I find this.

He put the lids back on the jam and peanut butter and cut off his own crust. I think he used about 4 other pieces of bread before he got his sandwich the way he wanted.

Home Again Home Again Jiggity Jig

For once I wasn't a big picture taker this trip. We loved our week in CA. We did my favorite things, visited family and the beach.

I know these aren't great pictures but I love all the kids running on the beach. It makes my heart happy. We saw starfish, crabs, dolphins and a movie being filmed, that's LA for you.

I was sad to leave, but glad to be home until I started a load of laundry. The washing machine is busted. Tomorrow I will be washing clothes in a new washing machine. I guess new paint will have to wait for another month or two.

8 months & other stuff

Somehow this week my baby turned 8 months old. I tried not to let it happen and I almost got away with it because there is no February 30. But try as a might he keeps growing. He is crawling all over and into anything you leave on the floor. Yesterday at Max's soccer game I noticed that he cut his first tooth. Maybe that explains all the drooling, I hope. He likes to eat, and just this week he insists on having food on his tray so he can feed himself at meal times. He has eaten table foods like noodles, peas, chicken, crackers and strawberries. He loved them all. Kevin came upstairs the other night and said "oh he loves cream cheese", so I'm sure Luke has eaten some other sweets that I am unaware of. It is a little hard not to give him food because he begs for it. Oh my sweet boy is a food lover like his mom and dad.

Luke crawling on the kitchen floor eating his puffs.

We had to let him cry himself to sleep last night, poor guy. He cried and cried and cried, 2 diffrent times in the night. With the other 2 they cried one night and that was it. I'm hoping he will do the same because another night of this is so hard. It just breaks my heart.

Lilly went to the dermitaligist this week. They put a cemical on her arm to see if it will cause a rash. If it does then we will try it on her head. The hope is that the rash tricks the body into treating the rash and stops attacking the hair folicals. The sucess rate is 60-70%. We hope we are on of the lucky ones.

I have been in photo shop lately and have been able to make a few pages including a baby shower invite for my friend. Mainly I want to get my 2010 photo book printed so I need to finsh up a few pages. Plus I just like looking at them so I'm sharing with you.

Ordinary Day

I woke up early as always and like many days it was just an ordinary day. We did the morning stuff dress, eat, brush. Since it is Tuesday Max and I don't have school Max usually chooses to have a pajama day. It is not worth the fight so we do errands in PJ's. Whatever, you are only 4 once and only can wear cool super hero pj's in small sizes. Max's outfit this morning was typical so I wanted to take a picture for future blackmail. Surprisingly he agreed to have his picture taken. So here he is, transformer pants, super dino top, fluffy gloves, boots and his dino Rex.

Then Lilly wanted in on the action and posed for me b/c she was feeling especially cute this morning.

Everyone was so into this picture thing, and happy, I was going to push it the next level and see if Luke and I could join the party. They said yes.

and the silly ones.

The day continued ordinary like, grocery shopping, cleaning bathrooms, dishes, and cooking dinner. Max painted a box this afternoon, that made him so happy, for hours.

Lilly came home from school we sat and read together. Then the kids watched their favorite show Wild Krats. Luke got fussy this evening and wanted me to hold him all the time. Then it was dinner, clean up, showers and bed time. Today I was so grateful for my ordinary day, it was wonderful.
