September Little Things

Mega Post, mega dump of our family history.  

Max found a bag a rubber bands and they were all over the house I mean really everywhere. I think we managed to pick most of them up. He played with them for a good 2 weeks making them into things, and wrapping them around anything that he could. Sometimes it's good to put up with the mess when they enjoy it so much.

I got a girls day with some of my favorite people. We spent the day paddle boarding on Saguaro Lake.  This is such a fun thing to do out on the water with friends is just awesome. This is me on the lake.

To add to the beauty to the whole trip we got to see the wild horses.

Our girl Lilly go new specks. She went with brown this time and they are a womans frame.  Oh goodness she is just growing up so fast.

More fun for the record this month we were able to plan and execute a Relief society retreat for the sisters in our ward.  My friend Amy was able to hook us up at her family ranch in Pinedale, AZ. Oh it was just so pretty to be up there in nature in cooler weather and with sisters.  We hiked, walked, crafted, played, laughed and ate. Everything that would encompass a good time we did it.  It was just for Friday and Saturday but I think that everyone that came had a good time.   Kevin was able to come up with us as he was our cook and helper along with Ben. I can't tell you how grateful I am that he was able to come and just be his awesome self.

Since Kevin and I both went that means that our kids had to be with someone. Now that mom is retired i called upon her services.  I'm so thankful that they made a special trip out here to be with my kids. The kids love spending time with them. Of course they do they are spoiled rotten but isn't that nice.
Max has become quite the artist

 I have never been so grateful for an author in my life. Jeff Kenney and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, you did it you made my none reader carry his book around and read whenever he has a spare minute. He would read at breakfast and while helping with dinner. He would gladly read his 30 minutes. He is so proud of what he is reading always counting the pages reflecting how many pages he can read.Its a great start and I for one I'm just thrilled.

My Luke is my other reader. Although his reading is coming along, he loves, loves to be read to. Our latest must have book that is funny, clever and entertaining is The Day the Crayons Quit. Luke loved it so much he took it upon himself to draw a favorite part from the book.

When one of your preschool kids asks if she can have a gold star on her paper. I head out that day to find it for her.

We met a sweet sweet baby this month, My friend brought over her new new baby along with the proud big sister for an afternoon. My kids love babies can you tell.

Rain gutter regatta for pack meeting this month. Not a big winner this year but he built a great boat and raced some fun races.

Bummer thing of the month I hit another car with my car.  So lame and I'm so mad that I did that. Everyone it fine and guess all in all a good reminder that I do drive a car that is not invincible and to always be cautious when driving. No damage to my car and insurance is taking care of it all.

Date night. Kevin and I got out with the Elders Quorum for a night of bowling we were both winners Kevin won for second highest score and me for the most gutter balls. How awesome is that. Most of all I love to spend time with Kevin. He proves himself to be just as funny as the day we met, a huge reason why I married the guy. 

One of my most favorite days of the year is the General womens broadcast. The talks were wonderful, uplifting and something to sooth my soul. Lilly and I make a date out of it with dinner to follow. We teamed up with Lilly's best friend Mary and her mom. Oh oh how I love that she has this girl in her life and equally grateful to her mother for being awesome in her own right.

Lastly we have the blood moon. You guys we didn't die but we saw the moon in all its splendor. I brought all the kids outside to witness the event. They were impressed and then quickly unimpressed. but still it will be something they remember. I'm so grateful for this beautiful world that God has created for us to enjoy. From natural wonders to people we are lucky enough to associate with.  When posting about all the little snap shots of our month I have so so much to be thankful for.

Labor Day

Everyone loves a good 3 day weekend but they always seem to throw me off a bit. Not that I'm complaining but for me it makes a long 4 day week. I'm not about to let a holiday pass by without some fun. This kids were so looking forward to Friday and a friend day. So So glad that Lilly has some great friends.  The whole time they were playing a Harry Potter game. When I was their age I remember playing that I was married to a member of Duran Duran. I'm just glad that there was a huge contrast between the two. Please stay little forever.

Saturday was GAME DAY.  Time to put on the blue and eat the salsa.  Hello best game ever BYU, never been so proud to be a cougar. It was Grandpa's birthday so we got together to celebrate him and of course the big win.

Sunday great day of rest, especially when there is a holiday on Monday nothing to prep for just time to relax and play. Jenga quickly turned into build your own fort

On actual Labor day we headed over the cousins for some goodbye summer fun.  Of course this is always funny to me because we have a least 2 more months of warm weather. Again never say no to a party. We started out with swimming a BBQ and then of course a traditional Labor day pinata. 

Yes you read the right a pinata.  I guess the kids had found one in a closet that had not been used so they bought a bunch of candy stuffed it, and there you go Labor day pinata.

Max so so happy with his haul. No time to put it in a bag just shove it into your shirt is the best method.

Oh it was a great weekend to spend some time with family. Now I guess it is fall. I wish someone would tell the Arizona heat. I'm ready for some soup and a sweater.

September 12

1.  I still love a morning run and to see the sun rise.
2.  I tried to get a cool shot of me running. So how that turn out?
3.  The boys wanted a slumber party on Friday night in the loft. When I got home from my run. This is what I found a big mess of blankets on the floor and two happy boys playing minecraft together. I really didn't mind, mostly happy that they could make the memory.
4.  A new light in the laundry room. I have only been washing cloths in the dark for a week.
5.  And with laundry day comes a piles and piles of laundry, but I'm happy that it is clean.
6.  So many times today I thought about my Friday adventures with my friends. Paddle boarding on the lake was the funnest.
7.  Luke found this gem (the fuzzy Eskimo hat) at a garage sale and fell in love. I think it was the best $1 he ever spent. He won't take it off.
8.  Library time.  These titles are very cute.  The Day the Crayons Quit  is a must buy.
9.  Lilly and I made a stop at Costco for you know the necessities. But I'm sure I will be back next week.
10. Max and I finished typing up his talk for primary on Sunday. Very pleased with this boy.
11. Headed over to the cousins house to watch the BYU game. We watched the game, the kids were doing this.
12. The GAME, we left at 1/2 time and I quickly fell asleep when we got home. It wasn't until morning that I heard the awesome news that BYU had done it again. Go Cougars.

One day in May

There was one day in May that I felt totally inspired to document my day and it wasn't even the 12th. I just thought it was full, a true to life real day and I was so grateful for a simple lovely life for all the perfect little things.

 Starting the morning after a run and the big kids were off to school just doing some dishes. Luke was a big help in putting away all the silverware. I showered and put on something comfy and pretty. Luke and I headed ouver to home depot for weed killer.

 Continuing on with our errands we spent some time at the library. I love going, reading books, Luke picking out books, I just love books. Of course errands included a trip to target and Luke has to stand on the red ball every time. Today I took it slow and I could totally just let him explore the things he wanted to. A stop at the bank. This was cashing some birthday money for Lilly.  And favorite of mine holding hands with my buddy.

Luke loves little animals, today he was all about the owls and eagles and wanted to take them home with him but they needed to stay at the store with their other friends. One of the best parts about going to the library is seeing Luke quickly looking at the books in the car he can't wait to get home. Here is a favorite place of mine. It is no surprize that it is a grocery store. Sprouts has my heart and bulk section just marry me.  Lunch today was happiness brought to you by Sprouts, Greek yogurt, mango , raspberries, apples and pecans.

After school the kids and I treated ourselves to an ice cream cone.  It is my personal belief that it is impossible to be sad while eating an ice cream cone. Not that anyone is sad, it just proves that ice cream really dose bring happy times.  Ice cream accompanied by the book The Book with No Pictures is definitely a funny classic and has become a fast favorite. It has the word butt in it so yes the boys love it.  And the last one, me talking to Korea for a bit today.  And there we go that is how I had a perfectly ordinary, happy day.
