Packing

Yes, I am packing. We will be back on the road, this time to UTAH to the WORKMAN reunion. WOOOH WHOOO!! Lilly and Max have no idea what they are in for. We are talking cousins coming out of the ears. Kevin is looking forward to the well earned time off and camping on the water. I'm looking forward to seeing my cousins and family that I haven't seen in sometime.
The last 2 weeks I finished up my last cooking class. I was so busy teaching that I never got any fun picture of the things that we did. I'm so glad that I did the classes this summer. It was so rewarding for me and I hope for the kids as well.
This past weekend we celebrated Pioneer day with a stake Pioneer breakfast. Lucky me the stake primary presidency was all out of town so the primary portion of the day was left to me. I was really stressed out about the whole thing. But after all the activities were set up and the kids sang their primary song everything fell into place. I have to admit I had a good time and I learned that we have some big party people in our stake.
Any post is boring without pictures. So here is a photo of Lilly teaching her friends the hula at a Luau party. Thanks Mandy we had a great time and don't forget to post the marinade recipe. Dinner was delicious.

And one more picture. Lilly has a love for rotten bananas. Why you ask b/c it means banana bread. Here is my little baker.

My last days

Tomorrow we drive back to AZ. I can honestly say that we were on vacation. It was so nice to escape from responsibility and the heat for awhile. On our last days we had we had to do a few things that I just love. Of course it was another trip to the beach. The kids ran for the ocean this time and didn't want to leave.
One of my favorite spots is the J. Paul Getty Museum. It was great to go with Grandpa, Grandma Candy and the Aunties. The highlight had to be when Max had a total melt down and I had to carry him down the huge beautiful stairs with every one staring. Grandpa was nice enough to treat us to In N out, which I might add that just tastes better in CA. We made a short visit to Grandma Lola. At least we were able to catch up. It was fun for the kids because they totally remembered her and her toys. Next on our visits we were able to see Grandma Stacy and Kyle. We were so glad that they had us for dinner. Again the visit was too short but I'm glad that we where able to see each other. Sadly I have no pictures. What was I thinking?
A great high school friend Lior and his son Adam had us over for a play date. It's amazing that we have been friends since 10th grade. The only bummer is that 10th grade was many years ago now.
When I come back home I love to drive onVentrura Blvd. It's just so nostalgic for me. The kids and I had some FRO YO and Sweet Harts, a very cute candy store. We left happy who doesn't love a candy store. Max is showing off his gelato.
Now it's time to head back to the heat but we will all be a little more tan. I have always been proud of my Peruvian roots. It really has blessed me with the ability to tan very well. I'm also very grateful for sunscreen. Working as a lifeguard and swim teacher all through college it really saved my skin from some serious sun. But the combination of the two turned out very bad for me this trip. No I'm not pealing, this is the result of my children putting sun screen on my back.

Our adventures continue

We have taken advantage of every fun thing to do in CA. Nana and Papa took us to see the Ice Age 3 the kids and Uncle Matt are sporting the cool 3D glasses.
Next, off to the beach. I learned a few thing 1 I miss the beach. 2 the water is much colder then I remembered and 3 is that a 3 and 5 year old are wonderful companions to take to the beach but not that great on applying sunscreen to my back.
On the 4th we took advantage of some mini golf. The kids enjoyed the game but, I don't see any pro golfing in the future. Here is Lilly jumping for JOY. Max played each hole 5 times.Later that night Mom and Papa cooked a great BBQ and then we went to watch fireworks. We went up to the Valencia Mall where they had a great show. With lots of colors and music. I love the music it enhances fireworks by 10, don't you think? The only bummer was it took 1 1/2 hours to get out of the parking lot. Happy Birthday America.
