Someone is 6

Many times a week I will ask Lilly "how did I get so lucky to be mommy to you.?" Lilly will just smile and say "I was just born and I came to you." She came to us 6 years ago and I have loved that girl since I have laid eyes on her. Her big day was wonderful. To quote the big girl herself, "This was the best day ever!!!" We started with a birthday wake up from Max and I, followed with a small present. A FAN!! Do you realize how much joy can be found in a small fan? Lilly does, it is beautiful and fancy and what is that word oh yes glamorous. Then it was off to school, she got to bring donuts to the class for snack. Max and I ate lunch with her at school and brought her a kids meal. Later I was able to go back to her class and read her favorite story to the class. She picked Lilly's Big Day (good choice). For her favorite dinner she picked chicken and rice and then it was off to Build a Bear.
Meet the very fashionable Rosie.
We ended the night with her birthday cake. It's times like this that I really could have used my mother in laws help. I surly won't be hired by Duff, but I don't think it is not bad enough to be on cake disasters. Lilly was impressed with how tall it was and thought it was pretty great. So mission accomplished. Thank you to grandma Lola, and Nana and Papa for the cards. She is thinking very hard on how to spend her birthday money. Lilly got many phone calls and loved them. She smiled from ear to ear after she had figured out that they only wanted to talk to her and no one else. Lilly had a great day. Happy Birthday big girl!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!

More Lilly

Since her birthday is this week I will just continue to write about her. She is her mothers daughter so she will most likely have a birthday week as well.

We made her Queen of the Week poster today. We put on her favorite things and pictures, she made her own art of course. This was fun for her to do because it involved markers, glue and tape, her favorite.

This weekend we did a switch a roo of the kids beds to get ready for the baby. We even got the crib up. I know a little premature but I just want to get things done before it gets too hot and I get too big. As the children are enjoying their new room set up, Lilly has this conversation with Kevin

Kevin: Lilly, you have a big space over here what are you going to put over here?
Lilly: A table and a refrigerator
Kevin: What would you have in your refrigerator?
Lilly: FETA
This may not be funny to anyone else but it had me in tears. Yes, she loves feta cheese.
OK I'm feeling a tad guilty and have to give a shout out to Max. The kid was the funny man this weekend too. As we are moving the beds from room to hallway to room or putting things together. He would say " hey dad, I have an idea, you should do it like this ____."
Some of his suggestions were to cut the bed in half and put it back together, take the bed out the window or cut a hole through the closet. I guess I should be proud that he is thinking outside the box.

Funny Lilly

She will be 6 next week. I'm still telling her that I'm not going to let her turn 6, it's just to big. I do enjoy this little girl. Just look at some of the funny things that she does. Here is her collection of juice pouches. She keeps them in the outside pocket of her lunch bag. She insists that they are so important and that I cannot throw them away.
Second, this is her fancy before dance class. She loves her accessories.

Oh Lilly how I love you!!!

spelling test

Lilly had her first spelling test of her academic career. She did great. I love that putting on the fridge wasn't good enough I had to post it on the blog too. Congratulations Lilly, I sure hope that you are a better speller than your parents.

Belly at 25 weeks

I'm more than 1/2 way. Now here comes the hard part, summer.

Easter time

Like everyone else in AZ we enjoyed the most beautiful weather for Easter Sunday. It was quiet just the 4 of us and conference. To quote Lilly "this was the best Easter ever". I'm so glad that it doesn't take much to make that girl happy, she loves life. The thought of having another basket in house to collect clutter did not make me happy, even though I new it was for the kids. So the Easter bunny found a few baskets around the house and put a card game and a few bits of candy in and called it good. Plus you have to remember that their birthdays are coming up and they will be showered with gifts and toys then. Both of them loved hunting for the eggs that they colored, and the bits of candy that the Eastser bunny hid. I have to agree it was a great Easter.

something I don't get to do very often

It has been about 3 weeks since we got new computer. The other one ran slow that I took too much time to open photo shop so I kind of stopped doing it. I love the new computer but I knew it would be a pain getting all my old stuff on to the new one. Just last week I installed my Christmas present Photo shop elements. So here it is my first layout.
30 minutes and a 2 pager. It's nice to do something fun.
