SURPRISE!!!!

Our sweet baby boy came to us early. So here he is Luke Maverick 6 lbs 3 oz 19 in. He is perfect in every way. Here is a little summery of how it all went down.
I went in for my doctors oppt. Tuesday morning. Everything looked great. I asked her to check me out just b/c I had been feeling a little different. Big surprise I was dilated to a 5 almost a 6. She didn't seem concerned. I really didn't think I was feeling any contractions so I went home. Then the day went on. Everything I felt I was thinking "is that a contraction?" Then I went around the house a little like a crazy woman AHHHH, the clothes aren't washed, the house is a mess, I didn't get to the store, I have to buy wipes, the dresser isn't painted, my bag isn't packed, and what am I supposed to bring again? Then I calmed down, did what I could, we had a plan in place for several weeks everything would be ok.

When Kevin got home we decide that by going to the hospital it would be better to be turned away then wait at home and have the baby on the freeway. We dropped the kids off at Aunt Amber's (who always plays an important role in times like this) And off we went. Lucky for us they admitted us, and looked at us like we were a little crazy for even thinking that I would be sent home this far along with a third baby.

Right away they put be on some meds, started me on an epidural (side note the epidural was a little too good. I couldn't move my legs until 8 hours after but that is another story). Then at 5 am Luke was born. There you have it thats the story how our little Luke came to us. We feel so blessed to have him and that he is healthly.

This is how we spent Wednesday morning

The kids are so excited to have their little brother here.

Here he is going home

Just one week of summer fun

We have managed to keep busy. Here here some pictures from the week.
Lilly posing after her swim lessons.
Max running away from the camera after swim lessons.
Both kids did really well. At first we had a rocky start but they proved to be champs at the end.
On some days after swim we would go over the the Jr High cafeteria and have a school lunch that was a favorite thing to do. Once a week we go to the summer movie it is another activity that we look forward to.
Here we have the kids and some friends before the movie starts.
Our favorite thing to do is swim. We were lucky enough this week to house sit for some friends and we took full advantage of the water. I enjoyed as much as the kids. It was so nice to feel weigthless for awhile.
Of course the pool is so much more fun when daddy comes b/c they become flying fish.

  • At some point in the week we went to the library and watched a live wild animal show. My rating is 5 out of 10. The baby alligator was impressive.
  • I got my hair cut.
  • Ate at Hot Dog on a Stick for $1 on Tuesday.
  • My sister in law was in town to settle in a little for when she moves in with us in Aug.
  • The kids had doctors appointments, all is well. Lilly is perfectly average in height and weight, and Max, well he is small. Nothing that I didn't know. Max wins the brave kid of the year award. The kids didn't even flinch when he got his 4 shots.
  • Finishing out the week my brother and fam stayed with us for the weekend. Even though they live relatively close we just don't see them enough. I was very happy to spend some time together.

So there you have it. Lets hope this week goes just a well.

Father's Day

We are fans of this guy at our house!
And since it is Father's day I can do a little bragging for him. He entered a 2 month competition at work to loose the greatest percentage of body fat. I'm very proud to tell you that he started at 14% body fat and finished at 8% and lost 21 pounds. Best of all he won the competition. We are so glad that he won but I think we are most happy that he will eat normal again and not his diet of egg whites, tuna and chicken.
And then there is the handsome guy, My Papi,

he sat through swim meets year after year, he sat through numerous choir concerts, and a few graduations. He always made sure that our pool was clean for a cool summer dip. He always showed and told me how much he loved me. What it comes down to is that I'm lucky to be his daughter.

Worth It

Yes, it was so worth it to turn on the oven today and make these.I got the recipe from here very yummy! What can I say I'm eating for two and it shows.

Here is a picture at 34 weeks.

Yep I'm getting big. The sweet boy is always on the move and jabbing one of his body parts into my ribs or where ever else he can find space. I have officially declared that I can't do the dishes. The belly is just too big, so that is now Kevin's job and lucky for me he is happy to oblige.

CA Events

We got to CA on Monday. I needed to take a trip now before I am strapped to an infant. The kids wanted to go to Disneyland, they had saved their birthday money for this trip, how could I tell them no. We made arrangements with grandma and grandpa to take them since I am not one for walking long distances these days. The trip was a success. I had 2 very happy, very tired kids at the end of the day.

Wednesday was park day. We played in beautiful cool weather. Papa was kind enough to push them on the swing.

Thursday we got to meet my mom for lunch and then headed over to Santa Monica to get some sea air.
Friday was another full day. We made it over the the Skirball Museum. We loved it. I wanted to see the Noah's Ark exhibit for a while so I was glad that we could make it this time.

Saturday Kevin flew in and we drove back on Sunday. Now, the plan is to keep the kids busy the best I can and continue to grow this baby.
