The other day Luke and I pull our small collection of Halloween decor. We were so excited fall is at our door. There have even been cool mornings when I head out for a morning run. AMAZING. Luke fell in love with this witches hat. All afternoon he pretended that he was a magician and pulled everything out of it. He pulled a pumpkin, weight, skull, plate, grapes and crackers all out of the magical witches hat. Oh talk about a wonderful afternoon.
Since autumn is here I have this urge to bake, and bake things with apples and pumpkin. I made 2 ingredient chocolate pumpkin muffins. Yum, and so so easy. I also made an apple crisp and invited friends over to enjoy it with us so I didn't devour the whole thing. I am bound to gain a few pounds If I don't step up my running and workout game and stop pinning sweet treats that I want to try.
During this blog hiatus I have been on, Lilly took me to a mother daughter dance for activity days. We had a great time and danced the night away. My Lilly sure has some sweet moves and a fun party attitude. I loved spending the evening with her. I'm so lucky to be her mom.
Max participated in the rain gutter regatta and he was super happy with the out come. He had the fastest time in his den and he was a great big brother and helped his brother and sister make their own boats. I'm so pleased how Max loves scouts. To be honest was worried that he would fight me about going but he loves it and looks forward to it every week. He has amazing leaders that always have fun things planed and he has good friends that keep him happy.
I got a text from one of my friends asking if I wanted to go paddle boarding. Um YES that sounds like an adventure I would love to try. So off we went to pick up some paddle boards and drive to the lake near by. I fell in love with this activity, it is awesome, on the water, in the sun, and clam. I loved going with these women who are fun, strong, and wonderful.
Lilly and I scored another date last weekend when we went to the General Women conference. It is always more fun with friends so we invited Lilly's best friend Mary and her mother to have dinner before the conference. It was nice to hang out with them. It has been a blessing for Lilly and Mary to find each other. I hope they can be friends for a long long time. Here we are heading our for our girls night.
One of the joys of teaching preschool is a get to take them on fun field trips. This time it was Krispy Kream. Krispy Kream was great. They went through the process of of how a doughnut is made and then the kids made their own chocolate doughnuts with sprinkles. Happy, tasty day. I loved to see how they kids work. Some kids are done in 2 minutes making their doughnut and just dumping the sprinkles on and then their are kids that are very meticulous and put on each sprinkle one at a time. Luke loved his doughnut and all the chocolate left over on his fingers.
I have a cute class for sure.
Lilly took on a big challenge this year in school. She wanted to compete in battle of the books. For Battle of the books teams read 4 books a quarter and then they are asked several rounds of questions from the books read. Lilly pulled a team together and worked really hard to get all the books read. She has always had great comprehension skills so I really thought that she would do well. I was nervous for her first battle, just because I didn't know what to expect or how to prep her. Well her team and her rocked the battle only missing one question. As of now her team is tied for second in the rankings. The girls were so pleased with themselves as they should be they worked hard. All of them have started the reading for next quarter and are ready for the next match up. They are all gung ho and want to get team shirts and everything to show that team pride. Well I'm super proud of them and I'm so glad that Lilly is loving something new.
