Enjoying the Calm
This week was much slower almost too slow. In my mind I was thinking that I could take a preschool break, I very quickly remembered that I had a 4 year old at home that was used to preschool as well. So we did his favorite activity blowing bubbles. We also read many books, put together lots of puzzles, painted, played with marbles, trucks, dinosaurs, made jello and even took a nap a few days.
One day we even made a special trip to build a bear to spend his birthday money. Meet his new friend Draggy.
This was his funny moment of the week. Well funny and frustrating. What is it with kids and band aids? Lilly had a minuscule cut on her finger and insisted that she needed a band aid. So of course Max needs one too. I give him a band aid assuming that he will put it on his body and that would be the end of it. Oh how he surprised me when I heard him pitching a fit, a mean a fit, tears, and throwing himself on the floor, all this because he couldn't find a scratch on his body to stick the band aid. Sometimes I just can't please the kid.
This will be Lilly's last week of kindergarten, I can't believe it. She has grown so much. She will end the year off with a bang. She lost her first tooth and will be able to get her name on the tooth chart in her classroom. And of course she will look forward to her first visit form the Tooth Fairy.

Girls weekend and other stuff
This weekend was our ward Father and Sons camp out. Max has been excited to go camping with dad all week. I asked Max if he was sure he wanted to go because I would miss him so much. He said don't worry Mom I will be back quick. The boys had a great time. I begged Kevin to take a camera but he refused so no pictures of their adventures. Lucky for me other fathers there like to take pictures and I was sent this one today. Thanks
While the boys are away the girls will play and play we did.
Saturday turned out to be a busy day for us. Lilly had a birthday party and then a dance recital. She did a great job and looked beautiful.
Later that evening she came up with a great idea on how to reuse her tutu.
This past week has been so busy there are a few things that I wanted to post but didn't get around to it so here is a quick list
While the boys are away the girls will play and play we did. First, I couldn't be more proud that my little girl wanted to sit down with me and make a card on photoshop.

Then we had a take out pizza by request b/c my homemade pizza takes too long. We then had some beauty shop going on. Lilly had me in some great hairdos. We caped off the night with FRO-YO and a movie. It was a great night. The next morning we even went out to breakfast.

Birthday for Max
This time it is our little man Max who is now not so little. The boy turned 4!! 4 sounds so old. When I taught kindergarten I remember that 4 year olds can do things, and they can be responsible too. This is the same for our Max he can do lots of things and yes when he wants to be he can be very responsible.
Birthday wake form Lilly and Mom. He was surprised to find that his bedroom floor was filled with balloons when he woke up. "There are 100 balloons, so cool". He got to open his present from Lilly. Hooray another simple big hit!!
Max had the highest score in one of our games. He loved it. In every frame when he would hit some pins down he would do a little victory cheer or celebration.
We then headed back home for his requested birthday dinner Corn dogs and cake. Followed by some present opening.
I am so blessed to have this wonderful little boy that is generally happy and grateful. He is funny, and makes us laugh. I especially love that lately he ends many of his statements with "you know". For example "I'm 4 you know", "My dad hates gum you know", " I can swim now you know".
Here is the run down for the day for our special birthday boy.

Hooray another simple big hit!!At preschool he got to pick a treat to serve, so he chose ice cream sandwiches. I felt a tad guilty that Max and I had to run around in the afternoon because if he could have his ideal birthday it would involve just staying at home, playing with his toys and watching some TV. We had to get some things done. After preschool we rushed off quickly to swim lessons, there was just a minimal amount of crying. Then COSTCO to pick up his birthday cake and corn dogs.
Next pick up Lilly and head over to the bowling alley to go birthday bowling with the cousins.

Now it's May
But before it was May this took place at our house.
Do you see something missing? Yes folks the training wheels are off and she very proud of her accomplishment.
Max had a big day today, it was the first day of swim lessons with Miss Amy. He did wonderful for the first 20 minutes and then he realized that Amy was going to make him swim, then the tears started. Miss Amy will have him swimming and loving it by the end of the week.
