October, let it begin.

Another week has just flown buy, another month as well. Hooray its October!!!!! Most you are rolling your eyes because you know what that means. Yes, it's my birthday month. However this year I have decided to go a little low key since Kevin is turning the big 30. So I will make his birthday special and then I will have my birthday week. I think that's fair. This post sounds just like Seriously so Blessed. oh brother
Another reason for October's greatness is General Conference. All I can say is Amen and Amen!!! I love our dear Prophet and the other general authorities. Most of all I am so grateful for the Spirit that testifies of the truth. I'm grateful that I can repent and try better every day. I'm grateful that I know that I am a daughter of God.
As much as I enjoy the spiritual pick-me up I do enjoy the fun side too. While the men in our ward go to their meeting the sisters get together at the park for a pot luck and play time with the kids. Yes, I'm a very lucky girl to be apart of my ward and call these amazing women my friends.
Lilly got her school picture this week. It's just what I expected. I don't know why I feel like the funny school picture is an important part of the school experience but, it is.
This week in preschool we blew bubbles. The kids had a blast!!! It was wonderful to see their little experiments going on. They tested the speed of how they blew, how tall they could blow the bubbles before the would spill out. They tested to see how fast the bubbles would pop or if they could blow them around the room. They tested how fast they could pop them. The reason kids like to blow bubbles in milk is because it is so fascinating all I had to do was use a little water, a little dish soap, their own straw and a towel in case they spill. All together it makes a great activity.

Just a few things I LOVE

I have taken some pictures the last few weeks and meant to post about them, but now I can't remember the clever things I wanted to write. Needless to say these are photos of a few things I love!!

2. Lilly enjoying the big huge lollipop that grandpa and grandma brought back from their Disney World trip.

3. I finally put together a little mini album from our CALI trip this summer.

4. It is cooling down just a little. We have had a few evenings at the park and we are thrilled to play outside.5. This outfit that Lilly wears to school.

6. My little chef.

7. The fruit market. Only my dad and I get this excited about fruit.

8. My new hair.

Long time no blog

I wish that I had something cool to say or something that is very interesting but I don't. Life is going well and going by fast. Did anyone else notice that Halloween stuff has been out for weeks and that they already have Christmas at Costco. I'm glad that the stores are trying to help me get a jump start on the holidays but no, I think I will be stubborn and procrastinate like I do every year.
Preschool is going so well. It is just a joy to teach my class. Now that we have gotten into a routine, the kids are catching on so quick. I love the observations that they make and all the connections they are making with the sounds. I really should be taking more pictures of the fun things we do. Here is one of the kids favorite activity using play dough to make their name.

In the afternoons Max is my little companion. Yesterday he was a good sport and went to the mall with me. The little guy fell asleep in the dressing room. I guess he took the shop till you drop thing literally. Now before you go on thinking that I'm so mean for making Max shop for hours. The shopping trip was only 1 1/2 hours and two stores. It is was worth it b/c I took back some shirts that I ordered and got some that I love. The day was a success. Today he helped me fold clothes. He now knows that he can fold all the dish towels and washcloths so that is his job. As a reward we played Hungry Hungry Hippo. This week I was reminded again how truly blessed I am to be home and to love what I do. I love playing with Max, I love being home for Lilly when she comes home from school. I even love cooking dinner and doing laundry. I'm just so grateful for the moments that I have with my family.

Labor Day

Our Labor day was well spent with family and friends. John and Jonathan put together the most amazing asado!!! If I were Rachael Ray I would say YUM-O!!!! Really the food was delish!!! Thanks John, you are welcome at our house any time. (John you look a little funny in this picture but the meat looks great)

So what do 10 kids do while they are waiting for dinner. They jump on the trampoline. It was still a bit warm outside. Who am I kidding it was hot and will be hot until October. But kids are resilient they won't a little heat stop them.

Happy days and fun times

All is good at this homestead. With the exception of Kevin getting a head cold but he is a trooper and hangs with us even if he is not feeling well. This weekend was our Jack Jack's Bday party. He has come along way that kids and we love him. Plus he knows how to through a great party, Bowling, pizza and Costco cake. Not to mention I made a trip to the outlet mall with the girls always so fun.Lilly is loving school more and more. Every day she comes home with something new and a Happy face meaning that she is well behaved. Her latest interest is Spanish and spelling. I happy to help her with the spanish part. Here is a little video of her singing her green song.

This week we got to see a little of Kevin's sisters. Shannon was a great help to me in preschool those 3 year olds are busy. The extra two hands were very much appreciated. After preschool the sisters and Max all went our for lunch.

There are lots of things to look forward to this week. Lilly starts her ballet class and I start a parenting class that the school is hosting. I don't know about you but a am not at all ashamed to get parenting tips, my children can testify that we are learning together.
