Starting From Somewhere

I'm behind but I have to start from somewhere, so this is life according to me for this past week.
Preschool stuff we have been studying frogs. Seriously cutest little guy. We get to watch him grow into a frog.  He is the second one that we received because the first one died. The company was really nice and sent us a new one free of charge. This time I was much more careful to make sure he was adjusted to the water temperature before I poured him into his bowl. That seemed to do the trick and he is still swimming.

And check out this craft that we did. It was so cute and the kids loved it. I love to hear the kids discuss the life cycle and other things that they have learned for our study.

It was Luke's turn to bring the show and tell bag this week. Out of all the fun things that this boy has and dose, he wanted to bring his pajama pants to share with the class. He is a crack up and so ready for kindergarten.

This weekend was busy and fun.  It was Max's first pinewood derby. Kevin and Max had worked on the car a lot well they had worked on a few cars until they this last one. The time was worth it because he did pretty well. He won a few races and he was pretty happy. It was really fun to see him and his buddies enjoy the race. I love this photo of Max reacting to a finish of a race.

This is his car "STEEL" (the red car) winning this race

Our stake goes all out for this event with decorations, flags and that track all high tech and stuff. It was fun and my boy had fun.

Next event of the day was a lunch and Easter egg hunt with John, cousins and friends. Everyone got candy, everyone got eggs. What was there not to love about this afternoon?

Then back home to change and get ready for the start of General conference with the Women's broadcast.  Since Kevin was working Uncle Pablo offered to take my boys fishing for the evening and they were thrilled to find that Pablo had bought them their own fishing poles. Now you must understand this event. When they go fishing with Pablo it is event and a party. They get 40 oz drinks, bags of chips, donuts, and other treats to pass the time as they wait for their fish. This time no one caught anything but they were stuffed and had a great time.

The broadcast was wonderful and it filled my soul.  I love that I get to go with Lilly and with the girl cousins and have a night out just feeling good. This conference marked 20 years since the proclamation on the family. I was taken back by that because it dates me. I was there when it was first presented just hard to believe that so much time has passed. As always the prophet was able to see our day and know the Proclamation of the Family would be a document that we would need to study to believe, live and share.

The main point I got from the meeting is, the family is the central to Gods plan and it is in OUR families that we grow and become the people that God wants us to become. It is my privilege to be a wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt.  When I seek the Lord's will in fulfilling these rolls I will become closer to my Savior and can do his work.

March 12

1.  It's spring break they got to do what they wanted, including playing on the computer when they woke up.
2.. Or they could choose to play on the tablet.
3.  Papa and his fruit.  He sent them home with me. They are as good as they look.
4.  And look what else he sent me home with. Still insisting to take care of me and make sure I eat.  I will say that I ate plenty while in CA. Now I'm working it off.
5.   A little Papa photo shot before we get on the road. Lilly and Papa
6.  Papa and me.
7.  Luke and Papa
8.  On the way home we finished listening to The Black Stallion. Oh I loved it and so did the kids. I love listing to books on tape on a road trip just the best way to spend time.
9.  On the road, good bye LA
10.  GAS in California is ridiculous and then in the middle it is even worse. Just here for a potty break thank goodness.
11.  Lunch on the road, Subway. Perfect choice. They now have a flat bread pizza that Luke was very happy with. Yeah everyone was happy!
12.  Home again reunited with my love.

Yes, Kevin is really that cool

Kevin and Hannah, Pablo and Emma competed in the Spartan Sprint 2 weekends ago.  Kevin loves it. Me I don't think you could pay me to do what they do. It is the thrill of the race and it fun to watch.  This was the first time the kids and I went. We even dragged Luke with a slight fever. I know bad mom but he popped some Tylenol and he was okay.
He said he felt really good this time around and in shape.  The rope climb took it out of him but he was elated that he made it up that rope.

We could see him at a few obstacles and we saw him finish. Jumping over the fire was pretty exciting.

At the end and catching his breath. Sporting his new medal.

Reunited with this family. They were proud of their dad.  My favorite was to hear Luke yell "go faster Daddy."

Here is Hannah his competition. Great job guys. It was fun to watch and be there.  Next up Vegas.

February 12

1. Starting out the day with preschool Valentine's Day party.  These are the valentines I made them. Little flyers saying "You are PLANE awesome" I was quite proud of myself.
2.  The goodies that the kids got. In class we decorated sugar cookies, Some kids brought in treats. And one mom brought in homemade ding dongs with everyone's name on them. Those were worth every calorie. So so good.
3.  I got some really sweet valentines from my kids a HUGE card! it covers half my body.
4. Other gifts where a rose plant, pop tarts, and cards. love these kids.
5.  Luke showing off of some of his valentine treats.
6.  Max had his 3rd grade concert this afternoon. I'm so impressed with them. Every song had 2 parts. And of course my guy singing his heart makes my heart happy.
7.  On our way out of the school I picked up Luke's kindergarten registration packet. I can't believe that this is it.
8. Kids came home at 3 time for homework. Lilly is always so good about getting it done right away. Such a blessing to me and she cares so much about school. I hope this lasts forever.
9. This has been my medication for the last week. I bought them for preschool but the kids never saw them. Sad I know but nothing says calm like chocolate.
10. Max likes to goof off a bit before he gets started on his homework.  You know lets see how may holes I can make in my paper.
11. For dinner tonight breakfast, egg in a nest. It was the only thing that required little thought and little work. A win in my book.
12. I was finishing up the kitchen, sent the kids up stairs to start baths and getting ready for bed. When I made it up stairs I found that the boys had emptied more than half of the shampoo in the tub making a wonderful bubble bath for themselves. Seriously they were having such a good time it was hard to get mad at them, but I had to anyway.

Addicted to the Screen

We are all addicted the screen. Whether it is on the phone, computer, tablet, or TV it's probably on more then I would like to admit.  Not all of it is time wasting. I just thought it would take a snapshot of we are watching and doing on these electronics.

1. I workout with a YouTube no need for a gym membership these will kick your butt.
2. The kids have discovered Studio C on BYU tv, It is silly clean Mormon comedy.
3. Netflix oh netflix excited to see The Paradise 2nd season. I'm in the middle of Gilmore Girls. Love LOVE it. I missed so much of it when I was in college and on a mission.
4. For the first time ever I shared the visiting message form my phone.

5.  Clash of Clans Max got into it first then Kevin started to play and now it's all that they talk about and it goes on to extended family. Kevin will talk strategy with  my brother, and get phone calls from his dad about war plans.
6.  Parenthood Finale SO good. I loved that show and so glad when a good thing knows when to end without losing it's charm.
7.  Instagram. Love it! I love seeing my friends faces from so many places. I'm talking real friends Like people I have a relationship other than the internet.
8.  The Scriptures. I have been reading them.

I have been creating on the screen as well. I was happy to make up this flyer and handout for our visiting teaching interviews.  I thought it was a creative fun fast way to hold interviews.  Now looking back I really wish I had snapped a few pictures from Saturday.  As the sisters rolled up we handed them a survey to fill out in their car along with a chocolate and water.  If kiddos were their with them they got treats too. The handout was to hang on their mirror.
As they filled out info sheet and had a little chat we washed their car windshield. I had a lot of fun. I hope those that came enjoyed it and we made the experience painless.
