working for the weekend

I have plug a great site. You all know I'm a wonderful blog stocker. I came across i heart mesa it's a site dedicated to great family, kid things to do for us Mesa dwellers. Her last post was on education and guess who is on there. Yep, it's me and my little Smarty Pants Preschool. I still have a few spots open for anyone that is interested.

Moving on to what the grandparents really care about.... the children. I love AZ weather this time of year. The kids can't get enough outside time. They also love the 100 tennis balls Papa gave to us. By the way Papa, Happy Birthday. We love you!!

Here is our craft from this weekend. Cupcakes, real and paper. I was craving cupcakes. I knew that we would find time to make them this weekend. Then I saw this from no time for flash cards. I made the paper project with real sprinkles by painting glue on the the paper and adding sprinkles like you would use glitter. I let Lilly cut out her own candles to practice her fine motor skills. They both did really well getting the right amount of candles on the cake.

Here we have Max helping me finish my last bite of cupcake with ice cream frosting and carmel.

We're back

Disney report. SOOOOO MUCH FUN! 13 hours of pure fun. Our weekend get a way was wonderful!!! Just to bore you with our photos here you go. Here is Lilly smiling, really the happiest place on earth.

There is good a bad about going to Disney land on a rainy day. Good because you walk on all the rides, really no waiting. The line we waited the longest in was to meet the princesses. The bad we got wet. Really wet. Luckily I packed kids extra socks and shoes. I wish I had done the same for all of us. We were all smiles before the rain. Max said he loved the rockets best of all. Lilly said it was the rockets and meeting Belle was her favorite.
During the rain, we are still smiling. The kids never once complained or had a serious melt down. The kids thought the rain was a great addition to the fun. Not to mention the great fashionable raincoats that we bought for 8 bucks apiece.

Lilly's magical moment, meting Belle. I love the expression on her face. She was so excited nervous and just amazed.
There were a few tears on our trip, well after. Lilly chose this doll as her souvenir from Grandma Candy and Grandpa. Oh how she loves this doll. Right after the fireworks show, both of the little ones fell fast asleep. Lilly was still holding her doll in the stroller as we rushed down main street to get to the car so we could thaw out from the wet cold. When we got to the car the doll was gone. My heart broke, Kevin's heart broke, Grandma Candy's heart broke. Lilly had fallen back asleep in the car that she only cried for a minute and the was out again. So what is a mother to do. I looked online as soon as I got back to my parents house. They don't sell the doll online!!! My in laws found it on Ebay and though about buying it but since they are season pass holders they were going to make a special trip just to get another one. I wanted to try one more thing to see if I could save them a trip. I knew that a friend of a friend that was going to be at Disney this weekend. So I made a phone call. They said that they would be happy to bring back a doll and they would be here in AZ in a few days. Oh I'm so grateful!
The day after was Valentines day!! YEAH can you see how exhausted I look here with my Valentine.
My mom was so great to make cookies with the kids. Here they are tasting the the dough, they call this helping. Even Uncle Matt got in on the fun.

We were able to visit Grandma Lola. I was so happy to get a picture with her for the kids. It's so important to know your family. As a side note Max is holding his souvenir from Disneyland, a basket ball. He has slept with it every night.

Friday for ME!!

I know it is only Wednesday but today was my Friday. We are taking off to CA tomorrow. I would usually say that we are bound to see family and enjoy great weather, but it looks like rain is in the forecast. Oh the shame, because we have a great Disney tip planed that we have been looking forward to for months. Everyone please keep your fingers crossed that it will not rain on us.

I will have photos aplenty upon my return but for today I am sharing a blast from the past.
Every day I feel time whizzing past, robbing me of my babies. I register Lilly for kindergarten tomorrow. I'm thrilled that she will be in the grade I loved to teach, but I can't believe that it is here. My kindergartners were all grown up, so responsible and independent. I have to face she is too.

SUPER WEEKEND

We had too much fun this weekend that I didn't even have time to post.
Here are our highlights
Saturday: Tea Party with brownies. The party was lovely.
Then there was More party full of FOOD thanks to John. I can honestly say that was the best SUPER BOWL party ever. I almost ate myself sick. We can't go to John and Shannyn's with out a little ROCK band. My favorite is Kevin on vocals.

Mom does this house look familiar? It reminded me of one we had when I was little. Lilly and Max thought is was the coolest thing ever.

For the last note of the day. Lilly started bringing home homework from Pre-school. It has begun. I think I'm going to loose it. It reminded me of all the arguments I had with my mom at the kitchen table. Lilly and I have already argued about how to hold the pencil. It's too early for this!!
